Lysistrata

For last Friday's Costume and Makeup class we had to watch one show of Lysistrata. This was a bit difficult for me because I was in the show. So instead of watching I participated. The 2:30 showing was a tough crowd, they generally are. However, it is more noticeable when you are performing a comedy and laughter is on the low scale. Disregarding the audience the actor's did a good job and continued to do a good job despite the lack of enthusiasm from the audience.
As far as the costume and makeup go for the show when we started dress rehearsals it was the first time the show felt like it was really going somewhere and that we were ready for this. People in the costume and makeup class helped with the drag queens makeup and they did a really good job, you can tell how the class helped them. Also you can tell the difference between peoples makeup who have been in the costume and makeup class, and some who haven't. A lot of those people are still good at makeup, its just with a few of them you can tell how the class would help them out with some little things.
All that being said I think we need a hair class, because very few of the girls can do anything with their hair, including me.
Anyway here is a picture of my makeup. My lipstick is a bit smeared because that is how I had it for the last scene of the play.

Second Drag Day

Upon attempting drag a second time I learned that instead of focusing on making myself into a certain man, I just need to focus on hardening the softness of my face. Otherwise the attempt isn't as good as it could be.
I wish I could say I was entirely happy with the results, I can say though that I learned a valuable lesson. Before I can make myself look like someone else I have to learn more about changing my own face and how different things affect its look.
Here are my photos:

Drag?

Ok to add to our experience in contouring our faces we changed gender. Here is my man photo. I can honestly say this was the most challenging thing for me yet. What I learned was that I need to put blue around my eyes to make them less girly and figure out how to get rid of the apples of my cheeks.
